The ice alpinism course parts I and II took place in the weeks from 21 June to 27 June 2025 and 29 June to 5 July 2025. A total of 9 participants were instructed by experienced instructors on various topics.
Week 1: Stubai Alps
In the first week, which took place in the impressive Stubai Alps, the focus was on
- Fall & belay techniques in the snow
- Glacier-specific hazards
- Track guidance and orientation
- Terrain assessment
- Crampon technique
- Pulley blocks
- Cutting steps in ice
- Standing on ice
- Sliding tests in the snow
- Practice with real customers
Week 2: Ortler region & Mont Blanc
The second week took the participants to the Ortler region and Mont Blanc. Several tours and classic alpine tours were undertaken here. The topics covered included
- Crevasse rescue and self-rescue techniques
- Glacier types and crevasse formation
- Danger zones
- Avalanche dynamics
The participants were able to gain valuable experience and improve their skills in challenging alpine environments. Many thanks to the instructors for their professional guidance and support.
