10 new IFMGA mountain guides

Ascent course

After 18 months of gaining professional experience, the promotion course for 10 candidates was successfully completed on 15 June 2025. They are now recognised as fully-fledged international mountain guides.

The prospective mountain guides have successfully completed an extensive examination programme over the past few months. They had to demonstrate their skills in challenging alpine disciplines and complete all tasks with flying colours.

The comprehensive examinations included the following parts of the programme:

- Rock climbing

- Ice and alpine tours

- Ski touring/ski mountaineering

- Canyoning

The first part of the test was carried out in March and the second part in June of this year.

The candidates demonstrated their technical and physical ability as well as their sense of responsibility in challenging terrain under strict assessment standards.
