Become a mountain guide
Vocational training for mountain guides in South Tyrol is internationally acclaimed. Indeed, our tour guides take their guests on mountain excursions all over the world. Many of our trainees take up the profession of mountain guide as their main source of income.
This can be explained not only because of the geography of our region, but mainly because of the high level and longstanding tradition of our training techniques. We try to emphasize not just basic technical knowledge, but also motivation and self-confidence. We endeavour to establish a balance between theory and practice in our training. Our tour guests are mainly interested in the “alpine” aspects of the excursions, but our courses also focus on communication skills and personality training which are paramount for the profession.
Becoming a certified mountain guide is not easy and it takes commitment and determination even from experienced mountain climbers. However, none of our guides seem to regret their choice because - just as in a strenuous climb - the greater the effort, the more rewarding and confidence-inspiring are the results. And ultimately, this is what this wonderful profession is all about.
