Association of South Tyrolean Mountain Guides
Approximately one hundred and seventy mountain guides are organised in the Association of South Tyrolean Mountain Guides. All of them have completed the three- year vocational training and successfully passed the final examination. The Association of South Tyrolean Mountain Guides represents an extraordinary high standard of mountain guiding.
Some of the main functions of the Association are:
- Representation of the members’ interests. Members are South Tyrolean mountain guides with a current licence.
- Maintenance of the register. In 2010, 183 mountain guides are inscribed.
- Coordination and organisation of the vocational and continuation training.
- Cooperation with other national and international (IFMGA) mountain guides associations.
